ASUS Transformer TF300 Review

transformer

I had been searching for a gadget alternate to iPad or Galaxy Tab. Something other than black in color. Something unique, having features similar to that of a computer and a notebook, that of a phone and a laptop all options in one device. And then I came across ASUS Pad Transformer TF300, blue in color, ultimate elegance, perfect portrayal of your personality and innovative design all packed in a single tab! What else could I opt for, better than this? Play, work and live together with one of the most powerful and versatile, transformable into a keyboard base and a laptop at the same time, distinctive touchpad and expandable featured device.

  • It has a graphic processor with an Android operating system, has incredible battery, 1 GB memory and lifetime webstorage space, strong Wireless data network with both WLAN and Bluetooth options on one hand and on the other hand it possesses dual camera options, one at front and other Rear camera with very good picture and lens quality and wonderful display performance. The audio options are also good having high quality speakers and mic for recording and listening to music, news, TV or movies etc. It is an ideal gadget for mobile gamming and web browsing considering its strong wireless options.
  • Comparatively it is less expensive than Apple iPad or Galaxy Tab although it has fewer options than those but still it is a good choice. It is convenient to use, portable device, good Wifi and GPS reception, easily connected to computer via DLNA. As far as any faults or negative aspects are concerned, the tablet does not have good repute as far as its graphics are concerned. But I have no issues with that. The only problem I have encountered so far is that it shuts down for no reason, difficulty with the touch screen since it is too slippery. But keeping in view the features it offers, I can ignore these little glitches and I am certain that these issues will resolve in next update.
Pros
  • Strong Wifi strength
  • Dual camera option
  • Unique color
  • Battery strength is good
Cons
  • Unexpected shutdowns
  • Less sharp screen colors
  • Slippery touchpad

  • “An excellent tablet”

    Pros
Great sound quality Dual camera with excellent lens Easy to carry, portable Multiple connectivity options
    Cons
    Unexpected shutdowns
    Summary

ASUS Pad has an Android operating system, the reason why I bought it. It is a cool device, lets you work and play and have fun all together. It has features of a notebook and a laptop. You can take pictures and listen to music at the same time. It has dual cameras and a good picture quality due to remarkable lens. Plus the audio options are also great. Good quality speakers and mic. It is an ideal device for gamming and browsing the web. It has dual wireless functions making it more useful in terms of data sharing and internet surfing etc. I have watched a lot of movies on it and I must say it is excellent in this regard.

It is convenient to use and easy to carry. You can also easily connect it to your PC via DLNA despite the Wifi and GPS options. Also it is cheaper than other comparative devices in the market which makes it more buyable by most of the people with low income. However, the thing I find very annoying about this device is that it shuts down without any reason. And especially when I am at work and doing something important then it is very inconvenient. I hope this issue is resolved in the next version since I would love to have it keeping in mind the features ASUS offers!

  • “Good device but lacks graphic quality”

    June 07, 2012 | Posted By Sveta
    Pros
Unique color and design Transformable feature Strong battery Multiple wireless options
    Cons
    Slippery touch Low quality graphics
    Summary

ASUS Pad is a good alternate to iPad or Galaxy Tab. It has a unique blue color, sophisticated design and very elegant looking. It is transformable into a keyboard base and a laptop according to my requirements. The touchpad is nice but a bit slippery causing inconvenience at times. The battery is strong and lasts for long. The memory storage system is remarkable having 1 GB memory space. The wireless options include both Bluetooth and Wireless functions.

Despite the fact that it offers exquisite functions yet its price is comparatively less than Apple iPad or Galaxy Tab. The GPS reception is another feature facilitative for me. However the graphics are not up to the mark. This is most significant complain that I have regarding this gadget and it is being supported by many other users. Overall it is a useful and fun device and I am satisfied with it so far!

  • “Good but could have been better!”

    Pros
    Great video rendering and playback
    Cons
Shuts down by itself Wifi direct doesn’t work properly Need an extra USB charger for this device Camera is a little sluggish Needs to be improved
    Summary

I have had this tablet for over a month now and I have faced countless issues. The biggest problem I faced with this device was that it shuts down randomly at times. Because of this reason I want to really want to return this device! Another drawback of this device is that wifi direct does connect but it does not transfer or accept incoming files! This is a real pain as it doesn’t function properly otherwise I could have easily transferred large files using wifi direct within seconds. Also you need to by a USB charger for this device as you cannot charge it using a standard USB charger or the computer USB port. I also didn’t like the camera as it is really sluggish and doesn’t work well indoors, however it works fine in good light. Apart from all of these things it works really great in case of video playback and rendering. Therefore I for one think that the concept is very good but they still need to make it more refined!

  • “Great tablet Great price”

    Pros
Very quick Great display Amazing sound Great design Additional 8 GB of space
    Cons
Don’t really like the battery life The back side of the device is a little slippery
    Summary

I have been using this device for quite some time and it has been working perfectly well. I am really satisfied with the display, size, speed, sound, GPS, weight, Wifi, etc. However I don’t really like the battery life of this tablet. According to the company the battery life will last for 10 hours depending on how you use it; however I only get 5 to 6 hours of battery life while just using the internet. This is the only thing that bothers me a little. Other than that I think this is a great buy and it offers you a lot of features at a very reasonable price. It also offers an additional 8 GB of space, which is another great feature of this device. Another thing that I did not like about this tablet was that its back side is a little slippery which makes it difficult to hold. Overall I think this is a great product which has replaced my laptop.
