Canon SX40 HS Review

This camera is simply amazing!
I wanted to get a camera which could produce high quality indoor pictures from any distance. I mean my original point and shoot camera couldn’t do that! Enter the Canon Powershot SX40 HS. Let me tell you one thing, this is an all in one camera and you will not find a camera like this which is short of a full on DSLR that can go 35x optical. When it first arrived I wanted to test it. So I charged my camera and it took about 1.5 hours to completely charge. After charging the camera I took it to my friend’s party to take pictures. I didn’t know what to expect initially however this camera performed beautifully after nearly 100 shots and upwards of 10 minutes of video. I came back home and downloaded the pictures and the camera still reported 100% battery level. This was really amazing as unlike my other cameras its battery lasts quite longer and the picture results were AZMAING!
I just love the processor of this camera as it works really well as compared to my previous cameras. Its stabilization is pretty neat even at 840mm (equivalent) and the pictures that I have taken by this camera are crystal clear with minimal chromatic aberration and fringing. This camera really works the way it is supposed to and it really is worth its price. My only complaint so far is that the zoom framing assist button is placed where my thumb would normally be so it is kind of difficult to shoot without pressing it! This can be a bit bothersome for me at times. Other than that I think this is a great all round camera however it is not pocket-able or light enough to be carried everywhere. If you are looking for a good camera and don’t want to go full on DSLR for $600 basic model upwards to $2000, then you should definitely buy this camera.

“A camera that takes perfect shots in all kinds of lighting”
Pros
Easy to use. Nice design. Easy video recording. Takes good pictures in all kinds of lighting.Cons
Doesn’t take good pictures with flash on. Battery life is kind of disappointing.Summary
I recently got the Canon SX40 HS Review and have been very happy with it so far. The camera is great for beginners who are learning photography and even a great choice for those who are mid-level photographers. The picture quality of this camera is amazing. Moreover, the camera has a great zoom range, especially considering the fact that it is not a DSLR.
Moreover, the LCD of this camera is pretty vibrant and it is easy to record videos on it. The battery life of the camera isn’t that great and I also didn’t like the pictures that were taken in flash. I am not a big fan of flash and probably that explains why. However, all and all, this camera is a great purchase for those who don’t want to spend a lot of money on a DSLR camera but at the same time want a nice camera that is capable of taking good pictures. The best point of this camera however is that it is able to take amazing shots in all kinds of lighting which I believe is very useful.
“Really nice camera that is nearly like a DSLR”
Pros
Affordable camera. Great picture quality. Fantastic features. Works great in different lightings.Cons
Battery life is not good.Summary
Everybody wants to get a DSLR these days but since DSLRs are expensive, everyone cannot get them. However, companies are making cameras that are not DSLRs but they are equally as good as them. I was searching for a good camera and that is when I came across Canon SX40. The camera isn’t a DSLR but it is pretty fantastic. This camera has several features that are noteworthy such as 35x optical zoom.
The picture quality of the camera is also stunning. I was amazed to see the pictures it took in low lighting as they turned out great without flash. The camera is quite affordable and a great mix between a great camera which also bears a lot of similarity to an actual DSLR. The only issue I have with this camera is that it doesn’t have a great battery life. After fully charging it and using it, I noticed its battery started to wash out after 45 minutes and went completely empty after 75 minutes.
