NewAir AW181E Wine Cooler Review

I previously had an EdgeStar unit, which had been working fine for the past three years. However after replacing its parts twice I finally decided to get a new unit for myself. Last year I did buy a New Air 18-bottle fridge and having had good fortune with it so far without any issues, I decided to get the updated version of that fridge. I really did like the newer version; however I was disappointed with some of its features.
When compared to the previous version this unit did lack in certain areas. Firstly unlike the previous model this unit only goes down to 54 degrees. The previous version on the other hand could go down to 50. I am a white wine lover and I found 50 to 52 to be pretty much perfect, which is why I was a bit disappointed to find out that the newer version couldn’t go below 54 degrees. But I guess it isn’t all that bad.
Secondly, the rack of the new system is even more problematic as compared to the previous version. Almost half the bottle varieties that I have purchased require some elbow grease to get in and out of the shelves or sometimes I have to remove a single shelf has to place a decent sized bottle in it. This can be very annoying at times. Thirdly, unlike the previous version this unit only comes in silver color. I know this isn’t that big of an issue, but I just wish there were other options.
Other than that the fridge works perfectly well. Even with the issues mentioned above I am very satisfied with having access now to three dozen bottles between my two fridges, and both keep relatively close in temperature to each other. If you are fine with the issues I have mentioned above than this can be a really great wine cooler.
