Panasonic VIERA TC-L42E50 Review

tv

Couple of weeks ago, I was browsing the internet to take a look at different electronics and that is when I saw the Panasonic VIERA. Since I was planning to get a big TV to place in my lounge area, I thought getting the Panasonic VIERA would be a good idea.

My experience with the TV started off quite rough. After placing the order, I was delivered the television and I was shocked to see dents on the back panel of my new TV. The packaging was done very poorly that resulted in a dent on the back panel of the 42’’ LED TV. However, I spoke to the delivery guys and got my TV replaced.

Since I haven’t been using a normal, small, orthodox television set since a long time, I really can’t stand poor picture quality and I was hoping this won’t be a concern with the new Panasonic VIERA and luckily, it wasn’t. The TV has quite rich and real color, it is warm and is great to watch movies on. I am a movie fanatic so I can say that hands down, this TV is great for enjoying watching movies on it. However, with 1080p resolution on board and a high-definition IPS panel too, I was just being silly underestimating the power of this TV.

I’d recommend this television to all those individuals who are pretty specific about picture quality on their televisions. The colors are perfect on this TV; black is black and red is red. Black doesn’t appear any lighter, like I have seen in my friend’s TV set. Since I am not into games and application usage at all, I really like this TV set by Panasonic because in terms of picture quality, I think it is pretty great.
Moreover, not only is it great in terms of picture quality, it is also quite reasonable. It comes with the newest and latest technology (IPS panels) and therefore, makes a great buy for those who are looking to get their hands on a new television set that boasts the newest technology. However, if you are into games and applications, I think you’d have to go deeper into understanding it because I’ve read that people have issues with the TV when it comes to gaming/app usage

Pros
Quite reasonable Offers value for money Amazing picture quality Great graphics
Cons
Packaging isn’t great Game mode doesn’t seem to work that well.

  • “Great picture quality for an LCD/LED TV”

    Pros
Great picture quality. Sturdy TV set. Value for money
    Cons
    Sound isn’t very good.
    Summary

The Panasonic VIERA TC-L42E50 is a nice television with great picture quality for a LED/LCD television. The picture quality is not as great as that of a plasma television but still good anyway. The black levels of the TV are good and though the colors are not as vibrant as I would have liked, they are still above average. The sound of the television is good too but it could have been better. However, since I am not too particular about the sound, I don’t really care about this element.
The build quality of the television is pretty good. Overall, the images appear crisp and the television is sturdy. It costs less than a plasma television so that is another plus and though I agree that you won’t be getting the same quality as a plasma TV with this TV, it is still worth buying especially if you don’t have a lot of money to spare on an expensive TV set.

  • “A budget friendly TV that lacks a lot of good features”

    Pros
Quite cheaper than other LED TVs. Good for those who are not obsessed with TV sound and image quality
    Cons
Image quality is not amazing. Sound is mediocre. Lacks depth and color.
    Summary

After moving in our new house, my husband and I decided to get a new TV set for ourselves. We didn’t want to go for a plasma television because they are too expensive and that’s why we thought we’d purchase this television. However, after purchasing it, we both have been severely disappointed. The picture quality of the television is not good. It lacks depth of colors and image quality is not brilliant.
The sound of the TV is also mediocre. Music doesn’t sound as good as it does on my friend’s LCD television. Me and my husband love watching movies on weekends but ever since we have got this TV, we have never enjoyed watching a good movie because the image quality is not that good. However, me and my husband are very particular about the image quality and sound quality which is why we didn’t like the Panasonic VIERA but I am sure those who need a good priced LED/LCD TV will love this good budget TV.
